Stalking Training & Consultancy

We specialise in helping organisations understand, prevent and manage harassment and stalking in the workplace.

The Worker Protection Act 2023 is set to come into force in October 2024, and it marks a significant shift in sexual harassment legislation for employers. The legislation amends the provisions in the Equality Act 2010 to better protect employees from workplace harassment and sexual harassment, shifting the focus towards prevention.

Employers need to consider now, more than ever, how they can implement appropriate policies and strategies to protect their employees from customers, colleagues, ex-partners and the general public.

The criminal justice system requires significant evidence to address stalking and harassment behaviours, and employers, while well-intentioned in assisting their colleagues, sometimes make decisions that hinder the collection of crucial evidence, thereby placing their colleagues at greater risk. The time has come for employers to become more informed and proactive in dealing with these crimes.

As an employer, you can mitigate the risks associated with stalking and harassment by:

  1. Protecting your organisation, staff and customers by establishing practical and effective policies for addressing stalking, harassment, and bullying.
  2. Recognising and devising strategies for atypical stalkers who target companies, managers, and employees out of irrational resentment.
  3. Leveraging the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Equalities Act 2010 and the Worker Protection Act 2023 to address workplace violence and aggression.
  4. Understanding the impact of Stalking Protection Orders on the workplace and taking measures to protect victims.
  5. Acknowledging the multitude of strategies available to employers for minimising the risks of harm associated with stalking and harassment.
  6. Confronting the reality that 50 percent of stalking victims are forced to leave their workplace, a trend that can only be reversed through appropriate employer action.
